Hazem El Masri

Hazem El Masri was born in Tripoli Lebanon in 1976, he began playing first grade with the Bulldogs in 1995. He established himself since as a star player who became an integral part of the Bulldogs first grade teams. Despite his heavy playing schedule, he was proud to represent Lebanon in 1997's Rugby League Seven's tournament. Whether he was playing wing, centre or fullback Hazem El Masri was giving his best and gradually earning the points to deliver him the honour of Bulldogs Player of the Year for 2000.

Hazem was the leading Bulldogs try scorer in first grade for the season and celebrated them in fine fashion. During 2000 Hazem continued his extensive work with the Lebanese community in promoting the game and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. In what is to become an annual affair Noor Al Houda Islamic College and Malik Fahd Islamic College contested the first El Masri Cup with Malik Fahd claiming the honours in its inaugural year. Hazem capped off his impressive season representing Lebanon at the World Cup and is looking forward to taking his game to a new level during the 2001 season. During season 2000 he played 26 first grade games scoring 10 tries
